why do we make shirts like we do?

in our culture almost every shirt promotes something. look around: a name brand, a school, a club, a band, a sport. not that it is bad, it's just the way it is. now, as christians (not religious people - just lovers of jesus) we have found something that has value beyond this present life. and it is so good, we want to share it with others. not out of pride, just a deep sense of joy, love, and fulfillment. that others could know the peace and purpose we've found. that they could be healed from the emotional and spiritual scars this life has left them. that they could know, and i mean know, that they are loved, and have been loved from before they were born, and will be loved beyond their graves. that they could experience the joy of intimacy with the god who made them. hearing his voice. feeling his touch. trusting his guidance.

but we can't force anyone into anything, and we don't try to. but we want them just to consider the possibility that this life is not a game, where both sides come on to the field and play and come off and everything is just fine. that people really do die and one really can separate himself from god for eternity, by choosing not to have a relationship with him. and it is our love and concern for people that causes us to make these shirts. if just one person is encouraged to think about their eternal destiny and relationship with god because of these shirts, it’s all worth it. if one person thinks outside of the box of moral relativism that our culture has put them in, and considers the possibility that there really is only one way out of this life, we’ve accomplished our goal.

it’s not foolishness for a man in a burning building to consider the possibility that there is only one exit out of the building, especially if this happens to be the truth! and in the same way we want people to consider the possibility that jesus really is the one and only way to make it out of this life alive! this is not a message of condemnation, but a message of freedom and life. condemnation would be the man who tells others that there is no exit, or that there is an exit where there is none. freedom and life is the man who points to the open door and says “come through here, you’ll be saved!” so whether or not you agree with our message, this is our heart! we just want people to find truth and life and joy and fulfillment and love: in this world and the next. god bless you!
